I love Virgin or Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. I mainly use if for my body cream.
It has to be virgin or extra virgin coconut oil to retain its smell and taste. I also like to use organic oil so it is free of chemicals and pesticides.
Benefits
- It moisturizes very well and keeps my skin moist all day. The smell is wonderful too!
- It’s supposed to help reduce wrinkles, penetrate into the deep layers of the skin and because of its antioxidant properties it’s anti-aging as well (which is very important to me now that I am beyond menopause).
- When I apply my Organic Virgin Coconut Oil in the morning - my skin is still very soft and supple even at the end of the day - no more flaky dry skin for me!
How to Apply Organic Virgin Coconut Oil as Body Cream
solid organic virgin coconut oil body cream |
- If the coconut oil is still solid (if the room temperature is below 74 degrees) - just take a small amount in the palms of your hand and rub them together briskly - this will make the coconut oil melt and then you can apply it to the rest of your body.
- A little goes a long way - just rub it in well so you’re not all oily.
- For those of you who have very dry skin, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil should do the trick!
I also bake cookies with Organic Virgin Organic Coconut Oil. See my tasty recipe for Coconut Rum Balls!
I make a Coconut Lip Balm that is really easy to do. See my Coconut Lip Balm instructions.
